Sources: Lebron James to make his decision Thursday on ESPN

LeBron James is going where??? Apparently to NBA analysts and insiders it could be anywhere. James’ plans still are a closely guarded secret.

Where will the King start his new kingdom?

He visited with six teams, the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls — last week at his business offices in downtown Cleveland and may have made up his mind already. But until he let’s the public know, all the teams are working on making a  run at the 6-foot-8, 260-pound All-Star or Bosh or Wade, or even a combination.

James is planning to announce the team with which he will sign during a one-hour special on ESPN Thursday night, ESPN The Magazine’s Chris Broussard has learned through independent sources.

ESPN would only confirm that active discussions for the special are ongoing. But sources tell Broussard that representatives for James contacted the network, proposing that James makes his announcement during a 9 p.m. ET special.

…To make the announcement on ESPN is a big deal. He must really love the attention. He must love the spotlight and wants to make a huge statement somehow. I don’t know if this is his ego talking or he is doing this to get it over and done with. To be honest, this 2010 NBA Free Agency is almost as annoying as Brett Farve retiring because every single minute of the day I have to hear it. Sometimes I just don’t want to hear about it anymore. But at least by Thursday, everything will come into place. Or at least I hope…

Here is a major quote from Lebron James Twitter page “kingjames” – “Hello World, the Real King James is in the Building,” which by 9 p.m. ET had more than 167,000 followers.

…I really don’t know what to make of this. Am I supposed to be happy that he is making his decision? I don’t know yet. I am actually nervous because he is doing it on national television with ESPN during primetime. Something must be up. In the back of my mind I really have him going to New York, Chicago, or to hometown Cleveland. I am leaning more to him staying but really the ball is in anyones court right now…
