Update 2010 NBA Free Agency

Big Z joins the Big 3

Jermaine O’Neal and Nate Robinson sign with the Boston Celtics.

Veteran Center Brad Miller signs with the Houston Rockets.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas joins Lebron in South Beach.

Josh Childress returns from Greece with newly acquired Hedo Turkoglu in Phoenix.

Al Jefferson traded to the Utah Jazz.

Raja Bell rejects Lakers and signs with Utah Jazz.

Mike Miller signs with the Miami Heat.

Bulls add another Jazz player in Ronnie Brewer.

Orlando Magic resign J.J. Redick.

Charlotte traded center Tyson Chandler and center Alexis Ajinca to Dallas for center Erick Dampier, forward Eduardo Najera, guard Matt Carroll and cash considerations.

Miami signed forward Udonis Haslem to a five-year contract.

Golden State guard Anthony Morrow traded to New Jersey for a 2011 second-round draft pick.

Minnesota acquired forward Michael Beasley from Miami for a 2011 and 2014 second-round draft picks and cash considerations.

New Jersey agreed to terms with guard Jordan Farmar.

…out of all of these the one that are great trades are the Al Jefferson to Utah and the Michael Beasley to the Timberwolves. Both trades significantly help the team and really make them more competitive next year. I think both guys under achieved last year and on a new team with some new life they can thrive and become stars. I really like this deal and I really like what these teams are doing moving forward…

…The signings that confuse me are the Ronnie Brewer and Jordan Farmar deals. What are these players and teams thinking. 3 former Jazz players on the Bulls. What are the Bulls thinking? They can take the winning in Utah and bring it to Chicago. I don’t think so. I really think this is just more panic replacement moves by Chicago. Also, why is Jordan Farmar backing up another point guard let alone Devin Harris. What does he see in New Jersey? Does he expect more playing time? These are the questions I ask myself and they just puzzle me completely. Oh the NBA, what a great free agency…

How can you say adding boozer, korver, and brewer were panic replacements by the bulls? sure none of them are james, bosh, or wade, but they filled needs by getting the best available players. boozer gives the bulls the inside presence they have been missing for the past 10 years, korver spreads the floor for rose, and brewer provides permiter defense and athleticism at SG. and last i checked, the jazz didn’t have rose, noah, gibson, and deng to team up with those players. the bulls have now become one of the deepest teams in the league but adding the best available free agents to an already solid core.

Mike, Do you really think that adding these players Mike make them a playoff team still? I mean when they had Gordon and Hinrich in the game during the playoffs, they changed the dynamic of the game especially during the Celtics series in 08. Do you really think Korver and Brewer can be that much of a force. From the standpoint of Boozer, I don’t know why the Bulls needed another inside man with Noah. I liked Gibson but maybe Boozer can teach Gibson the way throughout the season. It should be an intesting season without a doubt and I think the Bulls have a chance but they have to play hard every night to do so because I can name a lot of teams that are better than them right now.

a playoff team? easily. they made the playoffs last year with luol deng out with an injury, not to mention adding all these pieces will make the team that much more complete. and how u can say the bulls did not need another inside man with noah? noah is primarily all defense and his post up game in non existant. boozer is a perfect back to the basket player, and if u look at his numbers, they are comparable with bosh and stoudamire. in my opinion, the bulls are the 4th best team in the east on paper, and since i see no one in the central division being better than them, they will be a top 3 seed in the east.
