Tim Hortons to sponsor NHL All Star Game

The NHL All-Star Game is getting a title sponsor with deep hockey roots.

The league says its showcase game on Jan. 29 in Ottawa will be known as the 2012 Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Game.

Horton co-founded the Tim Hortons doughnut shop, the Canadian mainstay that is one of the largest fast-food chains in North America.

Horton was an NHL defenseman from 1949 until his death in a car accident in 1974. He played for Toronto, the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh and Buffalo.

This is awesome for the NHL. Canada’s McDonald’s is Tim Hortons and I love that they sponsor the All Star game event. I am just starting to get into hockey and everything about it and it’s been really fun. I joined fantasy hockey, I’ve been watching Verses games of the week and some Minnesota Wild on FSN Wisconsin. It’s something that I feel I am going to get to love because anytime playoff time comes around I watch almost every game. Now I am actually learning systems and players which has been a great experience. But it’s now time for someone to pass me a doughnut please and  watch some NHL hockey…
