Marquette Mens Soccer Clinches Big East berth with win against Seton Hall 3-2

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer went down to Valley Fields to report the Men’s Soccer game between The Golden Eagles and the Pirates. The Golden Eagles played a back and forth game with Seton Hall but scored in the 97th minute on a goal by Bryan Ciesiulka to clinch a berth to the Big East Tournament. They head out to New York to play the first round against St. John’s. Here is the video:

…This team played well until the final part of the year. They developed injuries and a lot of inconsistency which almost prevented them not to make the tournament. They hope to get healthy in a few days and make some noise in the Tournament…

I am reporting from Valley Field for MUTV sports…

…This game was all about not focusing for the Golden Eagles. They didn’t capitalize on any opportunities and they really didn’t play too hard. They didn’t look like the team that impressed me on Friday against Florida Gulf Coast. They looked tired from the weekend and it is not the way this team should be playing. They have Michigan and Michigan State coming next and they can’t have 16 shots on goal without having one go through the net. Talking to Coach Bennett, he feels like they can make a turnaround but it is going to have to come with a ton of preparation. He also mentions following their style and game plan. What if the game plan is wrong and it’s not the team? Just a thought. But this team overall needs to execute in order to win more games…
