#13 Fordham falls to #5 Dayton in First Round of A-10 Tournament 87-74

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn where Fordham falls to Dayton 87-74 in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament. In Branden Frazier’s last game he scored 30 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. The Brooklyn Boys (Frazier, Smith, Severe) combined for 60 points in the loss. The Rams end their season with a 10-21 record.

Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Tournament: #13 seed Fordham upsets #12 George Mason 70-67

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Barclays Center where Fordham Basketball is playing in the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Brooklyn. The #13 seed Rams defeated the #12 seed George Mason Patriots 70-67. Branden Frazier and Bryan Smith both added 14 points, Jon Severe added 12 points, Travion Leonard 10 points and 9 rebounds, and Ryan Canty had 7 points 19 rebounds and 3 blocks. Fordham had 50 total rebounds, 27 second chance points, and converted on 21 free throws. Next up, Dayton at 2:30 PM on NBCSN.

Fordham Men’s Basketball falls to George Washington on Senior Day 70-67

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Rose Hill Gym as Fordham is upended by George Washington 70-67. Senior Branden Frazier plays his final game on the Rose Hill Gym floor and put up 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Ryan Canty also put in a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds in the loss. Next up for Fordham is George Mason at the A-10 tournament in Brooklyn.

Fordham Basketball’s defense fails to stop St. Bonaventure in 76-65 loss

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Rose Hill Gym as Fordham lost to St. Bonaventure 76-65. Mandell Thomas and Branden Frazier scored 20 points apiece but the Rams gave up 44 points in the paint, 17 offensive rebounds, and allowed the Bonnies to shoot 49% for the game.

 

Fordham Men’s Basketball beat Rhode Island 85-79 to earn 2nd A-10 victory

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Rose Hill Gym as Fordham beat URI 85-79 to earn their second conference win. Branden Frazier led the Rams with 27 points, Mandell Thomas added 18, and Bryan Smith scored 10. Ryan Rhoomes crashed the boards with 13 rebounds and Jon Severe had 16 points. Fordham has a week off before they go on the road to take on GW.

Fordham Men’s Basketball picks up first A-10 conference win 76-70 over George Mason

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Rose Hill Gym as Fordham got a big scoring output from Branden Frazier and Jon Severe. The senior had 22 points and 4 assists while the freshman guard had 21 points and 3 assists. The Rams shot 49% from the field and got a career day from junior point guard Chris Whitehead who got his first ever career start scoring a season high 9 points and dishing out 3 assists. Next up for Fordham is #13 ranked UMass Minutemen on the road Sunday at 12pm on NBCSN.

Fordham Basketball loses 5th straight as Dayton gets 80-68 road win

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Rose Hill Gym as Fordham Men’s Basketball loses their 5th game in a row and 8th straight contest against Dayton 80-68. Ryan Rhoomes was the lone bright spot for the Rams, finishing with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Dayton Head Coach Archie Miller talks about Fordham’s future program success and Coach Pecora discusses how to stay positive during a tough stretch of basketball in the month of January.

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Rose Hill Gym as Fordham beats Loyola Chicago with a 54 point second half outburst. Jon Severe had 23 points to lead the Rams, Branden Frazier had 16 points and 9 assists, Bryan Smith had 17 points and 7 rebounds, and Ryan Rhoomes had 14 points and 6 boards in the win. Next up for Fordham is Harvard.

The Sports Cycle’s Donnie Dwyer is at the Rose Hill Gym reporting on Fordham Basketball’s 31 point win over Furman. Ryan Rhoomes had a standout game with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds (9 offensive), Mandell Thomas had 19 points and 4 rebounds, Jon Severe keeps up his 20+ streak with 23 points and knocking down 5 three point shots, and the Fordham defense didn’t allow the Paladins to make a three point shot in the game.
